I have considered keeping quiet about this ashtanga retreat in France so that I can keep it all to myself – like a hidden beach that you want to keep unspoilt.
However, like all the best things in life, I think it can only be enhanced by sharing.
For those of you out there that are hesitant about the whole ashtanga yoga/climbing combo thing – it really works. Both mentally and physically I think it would be hard to find two more complementary activities. I am biased by already having an interest in both but I can say that that the whole thing is tailored to individual preferences. These guys will go out of their way to make sure you have the kind of holiday that suits you.
We were all truly sated by the end of the day!
Thank you all for a great week x

Thank you so much for this retreat my friends.
I learned, at last, what: sharing, loving, self-confidence, peace, welfare, living together with care for others and the environment, thinking and acting freely and just FEELING GOOD mean for me!!
Let every one of us, every one worldwide – some day? – be altogether with the same goal: peace and freedom for all on this planet.
Thank you so much again Louise and Robin, for this project you made possible.

Such a perfect week…. unusual experience, i feel goooood after this time with all of you!
Waking up early was a little hard for me at first! but finally so good for the body and head to practise Yoga with the sunrise! we really shared good moments at the castle, and climbing was a good combination to make sport in such nice places!
thank you Djamal for the delicious vegetarian food you made for us!

I can honestly say this has been my favourite ashtanga yoga retreat because of so many factors… and, above all – the nothing is too much trouble attitude of Louise, Robin & all of the Vinyasa Retreats staff.

Given the tuition, accomodation, food and location, I would consider this yoga retreat in France to be an absolute bargain.

Having had some experience of Marks yoga teaching I had anticipated that the daily practice ashtanga yoga would be invigorating and inspiring, I wasn’t let down.

I’m honoured to have been invited to come and teach ashtanga yoga for this new project! I’ve always known yoga would be a perfect compliment to climbing – before I came to ashtanga yoga, I used to be a (very amateur) climber myself. And when I went bouldering again recently with the kids, I was reminded that my strength, stamina and flexibility are totally down to my yoga.
And to be offered to work with lovely people in glorious surroundings – well, it’ll be paradise! For my part, I’m gonna turn whoever attends my sessions into superheroes…..

This is just what I need to move on my climbing technique, and most importantly my head! I use some mindfulness practices clinically, but would find it really useful for someone to help me fuse this with climbing.
